Welcome to CMS version 6.0.2. This update includes includes the 2010 shipping rate changes for USPS, UPS and FedEx (effective Jan 4, 2010) as well as many bug fixes which have been added since the initial release of version 6.
This update also includes the release version of the Address Validation Module (AVM) which had previously been in beta testing. For those of you who have been using AVM, you'll now find that AVM will now work on orders imported (XML or eCMS) as well.
READ BEFORE INSTALLING 6.0.2
Important points to note before installing to ensure you are prepared to transition to the new version.
Installing - During the installation of version 6.0.2 you will be asked to enter your 6.0 release code. Release codes from versions previous to 6.x will not work. You can access your 6.x release code by logging into the Support Downloads section of our web site. Just enter your customer number and zip code to log in.
Important : If you are updating from 4.x, you will need to install the upgrade on the server and the workstations. If you are already on version 5.x, only a server update is required.
When to Install - The shipping rates in CMS will be updated when you install the 6.0.2 update. As such, you should time the installation of your update to coincide with when you want the new rates to be available.
It should be noted that having the current rates in CMS does not impact your ability to ship properly with any of the CMS shipping integrations. In every case, the software that prints the shipping label (e.g. Worldship, Ship Manager, HarveySoft, ShipRush, etc.) determines the proper rate for the shipment and thus how you are billed.
Having the current rates in CMS is often more of a reference. Its greatest impact, though, is in situations where the shipping and handling charge you charge to your customer is based on the carrier's actual rate (instead of a spending table or other formulas.) If this is how you charge your customers for shipping and handling you will want to make sure you have this update installed so you have the proper rates.

Integrations - All of our supported integrations will continue to work in 6.0 as they have in 5.x. This includes Endicia new version of DaZzle 10.1. Be aware that UPS has started to make a beta version of their new Worldship software available to some companies. We have not received a copy of this yet so cannot comment on its compatibility with CMS. If you've been contacted by UPS and would like to participate in the beta, please contact us so we can test it for you before you deploy.

Important changes to existing features in CMS that may affect your day to day use of CMS.
This minor release contains no new features beyond what was included in the 6.0.1 release, aside from those in the Address Validation Module. As such there is no need for pre-install testing or training on new features.
